I grew up in the small rural town of Cove in northeast Oregon, surrounded by cattle, horses, chickens, and all the joys of ranch life. My childhood was filled with hunting, fishing, and horseback backpacking trips into the Eagle Cap Wilderness. I attended a small K-12 school where I was always involved in the community, playing sports, fundraising, and doing my part to give back.

After working in the medical field for over 40 years, my husband and I retired in 2017 and found our forever home on Upper Queens Branch here in the beautiful Evans Valley. Before retiring, I often visited my son and his family in the Rogue Valley, and I knew this area was meant to be HOME.

Within days of moving, our wonderful neighbors invited us to their annual Christmas party, where we met the amazing members of the Evans Valley Auxiliary and Fire Station #6. I was hooked! I found my place where I could give back to my new community and make a difference.

Now, I spend my days enjoying life in the woods, surrounded by my grown children, their spouses, my grandchildren, and all my fur babies. Whether it’s camping, boating, hiking, gardening, or riding our mares up the mountains, I cherish every moment of being outdoors and spending time with family and friends—both old and new.
