Leadership
I’m proud to serve as Captain at Evans Valley Fire District #6, overseeing training, recruitment and retention, and building maintenance. Since joining the Wimer community nearly two years ago, I’ve had the privilege of making a meaningful impact while pursuing my passion for fire service and public safety.
My fire career began in the Willamette Valley, where I worked at both a suburban fire department and a small combination department similar to Wimer. Along the way, I also gained valuable experience working part-time on a rural ambulance and for LifeFlight in Portland. In 2020, I took on a role with the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST), Oregon’s state public safety training agency. As a fire training coordinator for Southern Oregon, I built lasting relationships with Fire Chiefs and Training Officers across the state—connections that now benefit the Wimer community in my current role.
In 2023, I made the decision to step away from DPSST after the birth of my daughter, prioritizing family life while taking on the role of Captain at Evans Valley Fire District. This position allows me to dedicate myself to our community while enjoying a schedule that supports quality time with my wife and daughter.
Education has been a cornerstone of my career. I hold 14 fire and EMS certifications and have completed advanced training through the National Fire Academy, including courses in incident command and specialized training in managing bombing incidents. Currently, I’m pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, with plans to obtain an MBA. My ultimate goal is to attend the Executive Fire Officer program in Emmitsburg, Maryland, further enhancing the expertise I bring to the Rogue Valley.
When I’m not on duty, I cherish time with my family and enjoy hobbies such as woodworking, fly fishing, and oil painting. Once a year, we visit my parents in the Midwest, where we soak in the natural beauty and warm hospitality of America’s heartland.
I’m honored to serve this incredible community and am committed to its safety, growth, and resilience.
