Jordan Bates is a proud Southern Oregon native with a lifelong commitment to public service. His fire service journey began in 2015 as a student firefighter and resident volunteer with Fire District #3 while simultaneously earning an associate degree in Fire Science from Rogue Community College, which he completed in 2017.
Over the years, Jordan gained extensive experience in the field. He served as a Forest Officer with the Oregon Department of Forestry and as a volunteer firefighter with Evans Valley Fire District before stepping into the role of Captain with Applegate Fire District. Jordan eventually returned to Evans Valley Fire District, where he now serves as a Lieutenant and oversees the district’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) program.
In October 2024, Jordan achieved a significant milestone by earning his Paramedic license and an associate degree in Emergency Services. He also works part-time as a paramedic for Mercy Flights and shares his expertise as an instructor for the RITA Firefighter 1 Academy, helping to train the next generation of firefighters.
Jordan’s diverse experience and unwavering dedication to the fire and EMS professions make him a respected leader, educator, and advocate for his community.
