Tom Davidson
Fire Chief, Evans Valley Fire District #6
Chief Tom Davidson brings over 16 years of dedicated fire service experience to his role as Fire Chief of Evans Valley Fire District #6. His career spans a broad spectrum of leadership and operational roles, including serving as Operations Chief at Evans Valley Fire District #6 from 2018 to 2023 and as Lieutenant and Assistant Training Officer with Rural Metro Fire Department for over a decade.
Chief Davidson holds numerous certifications reflecting his extensive expertise in fire service. He is a certified Fire Officer II and Instructor II through the Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST). Additionally, he is a Division Group Supervisor certified by both the National Wildfire Coordinating Group (NWCG) and DPSST. His qualifications also include advanced certifications in task force leadership, engine strike team coordination, and specialized fire and emergency response disciplines.
In 2019, Chief Davidson served on the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training committee, where he contributed to the adoption of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001 Standard for Fire Fighter Professional Qualifications and the NFPA 1041 Standard for Fire and Emergency Services Instructors. His work on these standards highlights his commitment to advancing firefighter training and safety.
Chief Davidson is an active member of the Rogue Community College Fire Science Advisory Committee, where he provides valuable input on the development of fire science education and training programs. His dedication to firefighter development extends to his involvement with the Rogue Interagency Training Association (RITA), where he has held leadership roles as Vice President, President, and Treasurer. He has coordinated Firefighter I academies and designed comprehensive training programs for both volunteer and career firefighters.
A graduate of Southern Oregon University with a Bachelor of Science in Innovation and Leadership, Chief Davidson is committed to enhancing the operational readiness of Evans Valley Fire District #6. His leadership in emergency response, strategic planning, and firefighter recruitment and retention continues to strengthen the district’s ability to serve and protect the Evans Valley community.
